We’ve been driving by The Celtic Club Irish Pub in Kent, WA for months, while it was being remodelled, insanely curious to what it would be like when they were done. They finally opened this week so my hubby suggested we go there for my birthday. So, Yes! Date Night!
They did an excellent job remodelling it inside. They used dark wood and Seahawks green paint, lots of stools and tables, a couch and of course a bar you can belly up to. They have 20 different beers on tap, a full bar and Irish inspired bar food.
I ordered the Shepherd’s Pie and my hubby ordered “The Irishman”, a burger with corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing and extra sharp cheddar cheese, and including thick cut, delicious fries. No kidding, I’d go there just for the fries, they were perfect. Anyway, my Shepherd’s Pie, a dish with beef, gravy, veggies and topped with mashed potatoes, was fresh and had a great flavor. My hubby said his burger was good except it tasted like a preformed patty on the burger (his only complaint of the night, which is saying a lot).
The Celtic Club has two brand new pool tables, two dart boards, skeeball, pull tabs, and a digital jukebox . It also features a 120″ TV where they host pay per view sports events as well as regular games. They are planning to have live music on a regular basis too.
Since it was my birthday, I got a free shot from our friendly waitress, Tammy. All the staff was friendly and attentive, the cook even came out to see how we liked our food.
My hubby is a big fan of the show “Bar Rescue” and he kept saying that Jon Taffer would approve of what a great job they did. He also makes his own beer and was thrilled that the beer was served at the right temperature, poured correctly and had the right head. He is excited to take his friends down there to play pool sometime soon.
The Celtic Club is having a party with a DJ Friday night (March 4th), but it’s big Grand Opening, featuring the Guinness Girls, is on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th).
